  8. Add the melted butter, 2 tablespoons of milk or hot water, and the vanilla to the confectioners' sugar. Stir to blend.
  9. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy, adding a little more milk or hot water if necessary to reach the desired consistency.
  10. Now add food colour and make designs.
  11. Donuts are best eaten the same day or keep them for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
